Shikisai was a great choice for my 6-night stay in Kyoto. The spacious suite included a laundry machine, which I utilized daily for personal items. The room was incredibly quiet, with only two units per floor, ensuring privacy. I appreciated the daily cleaning service and the convenience of the electric kettle for morning coffee. The location was residential yet had easy access to Kurasuma Oike subway station and nearby local restaurants.

Space was tight for four people!!! Air conditioning directed right at my head all night, which made sleeping uncomfortable!!! It felt like there was minimal soundproofing – I could hear hall noises quite clearly!!!

Hotel Shikisai in Kyoto amazed me with its spacious suite offering. The room had a separate lounge area and was incredibly clean. I appreciated having a laundry machine right in the room, making it easy to keep things fresh during my stay. A friendly front desk staff helped me with tips on local attractions. The location was peaceful, tucked away in a residential area, yet only a 5-minute walk to the nearest metro station. Exploring local restaurants added to the experience, as there’s no restaurant on-site, but plenty of options nearby. One minor issue was the absence of staff at the front desk during late night hours, but it didn’t impact my stay. Really enjoyed the unique Japanese tatami area in the room – it added a special touch to my visit!

great room but a bit noisy

The Maisonette Suite Tatami Area was spacious and beautifully designed, providing a comfortable getaway. Having the Tatami area added a unique Japanese touch that was delightful. I really enjoyed the proximity to local attractions, which made exploring easy and enjoyable.

While the suite was excellent, the noise from the street was noticeable at times.

The shower and jacuzzi tub were a nice way to unwind after a long day, but

the room felt a bit cramped for four people. Despite that, the cleanliness and beautiful design made for a cozy stay. The staff were exceptionally friendly, and having useful amenities like a mini fridge and laundry in the room was a huge plus.

shikisai impressed me with a massive suite featuring a cozy sofa and a large TV. the staff were super helpful, making my stay even better. it’s just a 5-minute walk to the nearest metro. There are lots of local restaurants nearby. very clean and well-appointed space made it a perfect getaway.

the only downside was no full-length mirror in the room! ! loved the themed suite, having a washer/dryer in our bathroom was a huge plus, and the staff's attention to our needs made us feel very welcomed!

We loved our stay at Hotel Shikisai Kyoto! The Deluxe Room with Tatami Area (Gion) was spacious and beautifully designed, providing a cozy atmosphere. The added feature of a washer/dryer in the bathroom made our clothes fresh and clean during our stay. Being in a quiet area with local restaurants nearby made it perfect for relaxing after long days of sightseeing.

Only downside was wishing we could have stayed longer.
